Types of Visas for Travelers
The Saudi government has streamlined the visa process significantly to welcome tourists from around the globe. The two most common options for visitors are:
- The Tourist eVisa: This is the most popular and easiest option for citizens of eligible countries. It is processed online and typically issued within minutes to 72 hours. It allows for multiple entries with a stay of up to 90 days per visit and is valid for one year from the date of issue.
- Visa Upon Arrival: Some travelers from specific countries may be able to obtain a visa upon arrival at international entry points. However, to guarantee entry and minimize waiting time, applying for the eVisa beforehand is strongly recommended.
Application Process for the Tourist eVisa
The entire application process is conducted online through the official platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
- Step 1: Check Eligibility Check the official Visit Saudi website to confirm if your nationality qualifies for the instant eVisa.
- Step 2: Prepare Documents Ensure you have a valid passport with at least six months’ validity remaining from the date of entry and a digital photograph (passport-style) that meets the requirements. You will also need a valid debit or credit card for payment.
