International Driving Permit IDP

The International Driving Permit serves as a translation of a national driving license into ten languages. It is issued based on the applicant’s national driving license and corresponding driving category, enabling the holder to drive outside their country of residence. However, it is important to note that the International Driving Permit is not valid for use within the holder’s country of residence. Saudi Arabia is a signatory to the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, which means that Saudi citizens and residents who possess an International Driving Permit are permitted to drive cars in foreign countries that are also contracting parties to the convention.
