Thee Ain Historical Village

Thee Ain Historical Village is situated in Al-Makhwah Governorate in Al Baha, perched atop a rugged white mountain that overlooks Wadi Rash from the west, surrounded by towering peaks. Located approximately 25 km from the center of Al-Baha city, it is recognized as one of the most significant heritage villages in the Arabian Peninsula. From an external viewpoint, the village resembles a singular castle. Dating back to the 10th century AH, it derives its name from a spring that flows through it, originating from the surrounding mountains. The village features a small mosque and over 30 houses, all designed to be interconnected and stacked upon one another due to the mountainous landscape. The houses are constructed from volcanic stones, while their interiors utilize mud and mudbrick. Thee Ain is renowned for cultivating a variety of fruits and basil, as well as for its high-quality traditional handicrafts.
